Fashion buyer, blogger and influencer Laura Magee shares fashion and interiors tips alongside her stunning makeovers on her hugely popular Instagram feed. Room by room is revealed, showcasing Laura’s strong and individual sense of style. Her latest project was her kitchen and what a transformation it is!
A bright and sunny room with a glass roof to one side, Laura’s kitchen has been refurbished from top to bottom. The cupboard doors, cooker hood and radiator were professionally spray painted in an off black shade; Accent colours of dark green, pink and terracotta makes the space look fresh and modern, complemented by details such as the tap, cupboard handles, light switches and sockets in warm brass. Laura and her husband replaced the kitchen island with a new, slimmer model, made in pink concrete with pink tiles in a gloss finish sit above, catching the light beautifully.
There are so many clever details that make the room special, like the DIY table Laura and her husband made themselves, using off-cuts from the new marble worktop, and the copper piping installed just underneath the glass roof to hang plants from.
As the perfect backdrop, Laura chose our pre-finished Twin Herringbone flooring made in solid oak, the same floor already installed in the adjacent living and dining room. Unlike traditional parquet flooring, Twin Herringbone doesn’t have to be sanded and finished on site, as soon as it’s installed it’s ready to walk on, saving both time and installation costs. By installing the same flooring throughout, Laura has created an elegant, unified look, inspiring the rest of us to get going with our own projects!
